Interactive poster creation tools

Below are some of my favourite web tools to use to create interactive posters and design engaging visuals. These are all simple and easy to use platforms that have a minimum to no learning curve. Also, these interactive poster making tools are student-friendly and can be used in educational settings in or out of class.

1. Canva for Education

Canva is a design platform that allows you to create a wide range of interactive media materials including infographics, posters, presentations, worksheets, comic strips, newsletters, book reports, cards, and many more.

Canva for Education is a Canva tool made specifically for teachers, students, and school districts. It offers all Canva pro features for free including tons of premium templates, royalty free images, premium icons and text fonts, background remover and many more.

You can simply choose a template from the site’s library, customize it the way you want and share it with you students. Alternatively, you can create your template from scratch using Canva for Education editor.

2. Google Drawings

Google Drawings is another good free tool to use to create interactive visuals. You can draw your visuals, add text, insert images and shapes, add tables, insert videos and links to websites, and many more. You can also use Google Drawings to create diagrams and flow charts. Everything you create is automatically saved to your Google Drive account and from there you can easily insert it into other Drive services such as Google Docs and Google Slides.

Thinglink allows you to bring life to your pictures and make them interactive through embedding links, videos, music, and text. Also, ‘ThingLink offers an easy way to create audio-visual learning materials that are accessible in an integrated reading tool.
